Sound Collective - Holiday Bundle
Novation’s Sound Collective Holiday Bundle brings together four spectacular virtual instruments and three effects by iZotope, KV331 Audio, D16 Group, Tracktion Software and Puremagnetik. Whether you missed our previous offers or you're a newcomer to Sound Collective, this is your chance to give your production toolbox a serious boost – for free.
iZotope’s Trash 2 is one of the most powerful sound-mangling plug-ins ever made, boasting over 60 diverse distortion and saturation algorithms, and a graphic waveshaper with which to design your own. Its dual-stage architecture allows two different styles of distortion to be applied to each of four frequency ranges, while two filters, a convolution processor, multiband compression and gating, and a delay module provide a wealth of further sound design options.
Running the full SynthMaster engine under the hood, KV331 Audio SynthMaster Player features 1800 factory presets powered by multiple synthesis techniques and taking in everything from basses, leads and keys, to pads, arps and FX. Every preset incorporates eight macro control knobs and two XY pads, assigned to carefully selected synthesis and signal processing parameters for quick and easy editing, and linkable to your Launchkey, Launchpad or other MIDI controller using the onboard MIDI Learn function. Also included are three awesome BigTone preset expansion banks – Analog Basics, Analog Basics 2 and Techno Bits – each comprising 50 patches. SynthMaster Player is an expansive source of fully designed sounds suitable for use in all styles of dance and electronic music.
Nithonat is D16 Group’s flawless emulation of Roland‘s classic TR-606 drum machine, expanding on the original silver box with an array of extra controls for tweaking its seven synthesised drum and cymbal tones, mute and solo buttons, multiple mixer outputs, and a greatly improved step sequencer. Most importantly, though, Nithonat perfectly captures ‘that’ sound, putting a slice of genuine analogue percussion history at the heart of your DAW.
Puremagnetik’s Lo-Fi Ambient Tools comprises two effects and an instrument. The Verv synth emulates vintage string machines recorded to tape that’s then been left out degrade in the sun; Pastfabric combines granular and tape splicing-style audio deconstruction; and Fathoms is an ambience- and drone-generating effect that transforms any source signal with pitch shifting, feedback delay and physically modelled reverb.
Last but by no means least, Tracktion Software’s BioTek brings together an innovative synthesis engine and a library of sampled natural, urban and mechanical sounds in a plug-in instrument like no other. Each of its 127 presets calls up a sound-specific set of macro knobs for transformative hands-on control of a complex set of under-the-hood parameters, processes and modulation routings. The four layers of each preset can be balanced and morphed, and entering Edit mode reveals the full set of per-layer controls. Whether you choose to keep it simple or go deep, BioTek’s esoteric sounds and empowering workflow make it a sound designer’s dream synth.
iZotope Trash 2 and D16 Group Nithonat retail for $99 each, Puremagnetik Lo-Fi Ambient Tools is $50, KV331 Audio SynthMaster Player sells for $29, and each of the three BigTone expansions costs $15; but Sound Collective members can download all six, plus Tracktion Software BioTek, for free from their Novation account, from 21st November 2019 to 6th February 2020.
